Your hosts

The Müllauer family - Caroline, Christian, Julian and Sarah - welcome you to the Müllauerhof youth hostel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm! Enjoy your stay with us to the fullest and feel free to come back whenever you please.

History of Jugendpension Müllauerhof

1954 The Müllauer-Egger family moves from Kitzbühel to Saalbach and purchases the Saliterer farm. The old farmhouse is renovated and remodeled. By 1955, they are already able to welcome the first groups of about 20 children.

1962 Peter Müllauer passes away, though his widow, Anna, and their son, Wolfgang, continue to run the business. In the following years, the Salitererhof is expanded into a youth guesthouse.

1964 The youth guesthouse is completely destroyed by fire. In the same year, Anna and Wolfgang Müllauer begin building the new Müllauerhof youth guesthouse on an adjacent plot of land. One year later, the old Salitererhof is rebuilt and reopened as a youth hostel.

1979/80 Pension Müllauerhof is built, including a private apartment for the whole family.

2004 Christian Müllauer takes over the Müllauerhof from his parents, now running it with his wife Caroline, the third generation of his family to do so. Together with their two children, Julian and Sarah, they proudly continue a long family tradition.

After the better of 63 years of experience providing accommodations to school classes, children and youth, it is clearly apparent that experience has been handed down from generation to generation, with constant attention given to keeping up with the most current standards and expectations.

Remodeling and new attractions since 2004

After taking over the business in 2004, Christian and Caroline conducted a number of improvements at and around Jugendpension Müllauerhof. This included creation of a new buffet area, a separate lounge for supervisors and chaperones, a new conservatory for smaller groups, a gym, a sauna with relaxation room, a chill-out lounge, as well as a youth room with table tennis, air hockey, darts and table football.

The third of the upper floors was expanded, adding three new single rooms for teachers/chaperones. Also, a guest elevator was installed and the entire house equipped with a fire alarm system.

Outdoors, since 2004 guests have discovered a beach-volleyball court and sports grounds (soccer pitch) with floodlighting, a park with Kneipp pond, a sunbathing area next to the stream, a slackline course, as well as a petting zoo for our littlest guests.

The location and the large plot of land where Jugendpension Müllauerhof stands provide an ideal setting for large groups in search of recreation, fun and games. Also important, of course, is that we not only offer great sports and recreation opportunities in and around the house, but also that the Müllerauerhof itself provides accommodations with all the modern comforts and amenities you could wish for.

The symphony of our life consists of motifs from our youth.
